* Image Management
Not so long ago it might have been possible to look after your photographs by simply storing them in a convenient way, be it shoe-box or filing cabinet. Nowadays digital images and movie files are being captured at an ever-increasing rate from cameras and phones. They come in many different formats and sizes and are stored on CDs, DVDs, SD cards, Compact Flash cards, USB Flash drives, external hard drives and now The Cloud, or in the worst case scenario simply scattered randomly between computers.
It is all too easy to become overwhelmed and completely lose track of where they might be stored, making them time-consuming to find and running the risk of losing them altogether with a hard drive failure.
I can offer advice on how to manage these media files by using some basic housekeeping and backup routines. I can also recommend some relatively simple software solutions to keep track of them.
